Self Portrait Challenge : Bathroom-Week One

I seem to remember that it’s bad Feng Shui to have a picture in the bathroom. I don’t know why; I’m not even sure I’m remembering it right but that little bit of Feng Shui has gone on ignore in my house. The photograph in my toilet room depicts a great shot of the Golden Gate bridge. For the sake of my husband. He misses swimming in SF bay with the other members of the South End Rowing Club so when I found this photograph I knew I had to have it. You see, if you sit on the toilet in 2nd floor lounge of the SE clubhouse not only do you get relief, you get a magnificent view of the GG. Up close and personal. I thought I’d give MM a little bit of home in his own bathroom. This week’s self-portrait is a reflection off that photograph and actually, it captures what’s in my head these days. I’m missing SF terribly too.

  1. I love this.
I haven’t been to your blog before and I am so happy to have found it :)
I live just over the GGBridge and, indeed, feel so lucky to.
Your post reminds me of this shot that I took earlier this year. Do you get to visit often?

I look forward to visiting more :)

  2. Thank you. :) I appreciate your kind words.

We’ve been back at least once a year, generally to swim the Alcatraz invitational. My husband’s family is in SF so we are lucky enough to have a place to stay. ;)

    Thanks for the visit!

  3. I spent years thinking I missed San Francisco…until we moved to California (moved BACK for me)…and I realized it was the STATE I missed. I occasionally get into the City and enjoy my time there, but it was a shock to realize that I have no desire to live there again.

(Years ago I worked for a guy who was a member of the Dolphin Club and swam in the Bay every day at lunchtime. NUTS.) ;)
